On Saturday June 21st 2014, The 1st
Annual Unrivaled Hair and Beauty Industry Awards took place in Lafayette, LA.
The location for the event was the Burke Theatre on the campus of UL. This was
an exciting premier event to take place in the city; it brought lots of
curiosity and excitement! This award show was presented by Unrivaled Hair Creations Magazine and Global Industry Empire; in Partnership with KRRQ 95.5. This was a night of giving recognition to those who work hard in the hair and
beauty industry. It was not about competition or who’s better than the other.
The purpose of this event was to celebrate all hair and beauty professionals by
recognizing their achievements.
The host for the evening was the very funny comedian James
Walker, known as “The Reverend”. The
night was filled with laughter and heart-warming acceptance speeches. Honorees for the evening were LegendaryRussell Chew and Rising Star Mandy Williams( The Queen of Kash), along with many
other hair and beauty professionals. There were also live performances by the
sultry songstress Neyah Sohle and Zydeco artist Mike Dopsie. In addition; there
was a fashion segment by Renee Couture and “Hair From Another Planet” by
Illustrious Hands Beauty Salon. Throughout the show there were also amazing door
prizes given out. Everyone had a blast and cannot wait to do it again next
year!
