Don't Call It A Come Back!! Chrystale Wilson Discusses Upcoming Docuseries From The Bottom Up & More!!

Chrystale Wilson knows the true meaning of using what you got, to get what you want, and it is not what many of you are thinking! It's her talents, intelligence, and connections. In the entertainment business it’s not always who you know, but also who knows you! The industry can be very cut throat, and it takes alot of tenacity to have longevity and success in this business. Chrystale has done just that. Although she has remained pretty low-key in comparison to a couple of her counterparts, she has been very busy over the years. Working on projects such as Trois,  A Baby For ChristmasCreed, and also her book Sexipes. We are very delighted that Chrystale will be sharing her personal story on the upcoming docuseries From The Bottom Up, set to premier Saturday January 16th on Centric Tv!

UM:  Welcome Chrystale! Are you excited about your upcoming docuseries From The Bottom Up?
CW:  I am very excited! I want everyone to know just how excited I am. I wish I could find another word to describe how I feel.  “I am juiced up” lol. It is going to make a lot of people look at themselves. It will be a shocker.

UM: That sounds very interesting! Tell us a little bit more about the show, and what can we expect to see from yourself and your other cast mates?
CW: Authenticity, just bearing our souls in alot of ways. It will be like Iyanla Vanzant were to come onto The Housewives Show. We are just trying to support each other. It will be very heartfelt and honest.

UM: What made you decide to share your personal story with the world by doing this docuseries?
CW: The creator of the show Nicci Gilbert is a really dear friend of mine , and we’ve always said that we would do something big together. I keep so many secrets. I am the confidant. I never discuss anyone else’s business, but when you’re that person you don’t have anyone who you could trust. You pretty much suffer in silence. I was apprehensive at first, but Nicci said “I could see you being a mentor, if you show that side of you it could help so many people.” You never know what people are really going through. Especially in the world of social media, people paint the perfect pictures.

UM: Now for those who may not follow the entertainment industry closely, please inform everyone just how busy you have been over the years since The Players Club.
CW: I’ve always had a passion for the entertainment industry since a little girl. My mom asked what do you want to do when you grow up? I said I was going to have a husband, be a singer, an actress, and have a helicopter lol. I was one of the first independent writers to do a Union film in the state of Georgia. I saw Master. P producing a lot of independent projects, I said Ughhh Nah Na Nah Na I can do that too lol! I do alot of behind scenes. I have worked on quite a few projects. One of my most recent projects was working in production with the movie Creed. That truly an amazing experience. It’s just that I’ve always been very private and not wanting my business out there.

UM: Speaking of The Players Club, do you mind that many people will always refer to you as Ronnie, and has it been hard to cross over into other types of roles since portraying this sexy villain?  CW: I don’t mind at all. Al Pacino made a statement saying that they will always remember the star and the villain. I will be remembered for doing an awesome job with that role! It has been absolutely hard to cross over into roles. Not only because of Ronnie. It is a strange game. I was the only one from Atlanta that was casted in that movie. Many doubted my ability. They even said I was a stripper when I was really working at an attorney’s office at that time. I audition and earned the role.

UM what advice do you have for anyone looking to break into the entertainment industry?
CW: It is hard to answer that question because I am still on the path of recovery and reinvention. I will say this though, never ever give up and don’t get caught up. We lost so many talented people because we didn’t realize their struggles until they were gone. They just got caught up.

UM:  Now what’s next for Chrystal Wilson? Do you have any other upcoming projects that we should be on the lookout for?
CW: Of course I have my book Sexipeies I’m now in process of writing of my next book Poet Pallet, and launching a seasoning line with different spices!

UM: Where can everyone go to keep up with all your latest projects?

Thanks for your time Chrystale! We wish you the best with everything! We’ll definitely be turned in to From The Bottom Up!

Exclusive Interview!! Jeremy Cormier Presents "Even A Good Man Is Tempted"

Unrivaled Magazine is thrilled to present you an exclusive interview with a very talented young man by the name of Jeremy Cormier. His entertainment projects range from working productions featuring Nicki Minaj, Ludacris, T.I, Shirley Murdock ,and a host of others.  Cormier’s background and experience is pretty extensive for such a young age and he continues to build his resume. He is excited to make his Directorial Debut this year in Louisiana with his own production at the Heymann Performing Arts Center titled, “Even A Good Man Is Tempted.”

UM: For those who may not be familiar, tell everyone a little bit about your background and where you are from?
I am originally from Louisiana. I was raised in St. Martinville (Cade), and Lafayette, Louisiana. I graduated from St. Thomas More High School. I currently reside in Atlanta, Ga. where I attended Morehouse College and obtained an undergraduate degree in Business Administration. I also obtained a Masters of Business Administration in 2012 from South University.

UM: What made you want to write and produce your very own stage play?
Many different factors, my mom and dad took me to my 1st stage play at the Heymann Center to see a production titled “Be Careful What You Pray For”staring Shirley Murdock. Seeing this production is what sparked my interest in the arts. I was also called to work my 1st stage play by a family member titled “The Life Story of Marvin Gaye.” From that point on I was called on to work with many other stage productions. I really enjoy the energy. I have been doing this for about 10 years, and love entertaining people. I also wanted to fulfill my goal of producing my very own first stage play before I turned the age of 30.

UM: Who are some of your major influences in the industry and what do you feel sets you apart from them?
I can’t contribute my influences to one single person. I do remember watching the dvd of Tyler Perry’s stage play Diary of A Mad Black Woman and being inspired from his words at the end when asked about his inspiration. A few to name are JD Lawrence, Je’Caryous Johnson, and David Talbert who I spoke with for hours and he gave some great advice and motivation. I would also have to say my cousin Derek Wilson, who has toured the world with many greats. What sets me apart is that I started out selling program books for these shows; I truly started from the very bottom. I also have training and knowledge from some of the industry’s greatest.

UM: Where did the inspiration for your upcoming play “Even A Good Man Is Tempted” come from?
My inspiration came from a combination of many things. A few of those would be TV, my life (for certain parts), family, friends, and everything around me. I have a diverse background, so you get to see a little bit of everything.

UM: Without giving too much away, tell everyone what they can expect from “Even A Good Man is Tempted.”
They can expect to be entertained with great acting. A good guy has a plan to find love, but sometimes things happen when we don’t even know it is right in front of our eyes.

UM: How did you go about the selection of the cast?
I did not hold any auditions. The cast selected were people that I have already worked with and admired their talents.

UM:  What’s next for Jeremy Cormier Presents?
God willing and the success of this production, I would like to take the play to 10-15 different cities on a tour. I hope to continue to build capital for my production company & do this until the day I die. I would also like to cross over into movies, other entertainment projects, possibly reality TV, and last but not least service projects. I want to give back to the community.

UM:  Where should everyone who wants to keep up with all of your current and upcoming projects go to follow your journey?

Louisiana Promoter Angelle Ozenne Takes Over Male Dominated Industry!!

UM: Tell us a little bit about your background and how did you get started in the industry?
AO: My background is in customer service, period. In 2009, I quit my 9-5 job and took a leap of faith, opening my own clothing boutique, which I did in 2010 (closed physical location in 2013). When I got out of a long-term relationship at age 33, I started going out again. That is when realized that normal clubbing for a lady over 30 wasn't as fun as it was in my 20's, so I started brainstorming. I had only been to 2 or maybe 3 adult entertainment shows prior to me doing my first show in August 2013. It started out small at first, but the support was great...and there you have it.

UM: What has been your biggest challenge as a female promoter in a male dominated industry?
AO: People think that all females in this industry are sleeping with dancers. It's business...period...and there is money to be made.

UM: Does working in this type of industry affect you your love life?
AO: It hasn't thus far. I am secure and outspoken anyway, so any man that can deal with my personality can definitely deal with what I do. Insecurity has no place in my life!!! An intelligent man would be smart enough to support his woman and get that money with her.

UM: What can we expect from the next upcoming show in Lafayette, LA taking place October 17th?
AO: OMG, FRESH MEAT!!! Lol...I'm excited to bring down Swagga, Philly's wild boy. When you see his 6ft plus stature and all the tats it's intimidating, but he's a sweetheart. And WET DREAM, a female (dom/lesbian) dancer who will shut it down. I personally do not watch female entertainers, but when I say she hits like the men and gives you a show...just wait!!!
